Ready to roll out Airalo for Business? Whether you're equipping a small team or a global workforce, setting up seamless travel connectivity has never been easier.
In this guide, we’ll walk you through the step-by-step process of getting started — so your team can stay connected anywhere in the world, hassle-free.
1. Review onboarding materials
First, ensure that you review the onboarding materials provided by your Account Manager. These include video tutorials, employee and admin guides, and links to FAQs. You can turn to these resources for support throughout the onboarding process.
2. Set up your organization on the Airalo Partner Platform
Next, you will set up your organization on the Airalo Partner Platform. This includes:
- Configuring SSO (if applicable)
- Determining how you will provide eSIMs to your employees
- Managing spending settings, and
- Setting up payment methods
Configure SSO (if applicable)
Single sign-on (SSO) simplifies syncing your employee directory and improves security for team member login.
The benefits of configuring SSO include:
- Automatic synchronization of your employee directory: Assigns roles and access permissions automatically
- Automatic synchronization of employee status and role: Updates employee status and roles in real-time, so you don’t have to manually add or remove users when they join or leave the company.
To enable SSO, you must configure SSO and SCIM (System for Cross-domain Identity Management) provisioning with your (IdP) Identity Directory Provider and the Airalo Partner Platform under Company settings.
Determine how you'll provide eSIMs for your employees
You can choose between two ways to provide eSIMs for your traveling employees:
- Purchase eSIMs on behalf of employees: You can purchase eSIMs in the Partner Platform and assign them to employees. Once an eSIM is assigned, employees receive them directly in the Airalo app.
- Enable employees to self-purchase eSIMs: Employees can purchase their own eSIMs via the Airalo app and bill them to your organization. You can set budget limits to control spending.
Manage spending settings
If you've chosen to let your employees self-purchase eSIMs, you can set up spending limits to ensure they stay within their allocated budget.
In Company Settings, you can set budget limits for your organization and individual employees. You can choose how often these limits reset — monthly, quarterly, or yearly — based on your company’s financial planning needs.
Set up payment methods
Airalo for Business offers flexible payment options to suit your company’s financial planning and operational needs.
During onboarding, your Account Manager will set you up with your desired payment method:
- Card payments: Pay for each transaction using a company credit card.
- Prepaid Airalo Credits: Purchase Airalo Credits upfront. Each time an eSIM is bought, the cost is deducted from your credit balance. This method ensures controlled spending and reduces frequent payment processing. It is ideal for companies that want to forget about monthly payments and top up only when credits are low.
- Postpaid monthly invoices: Receive a consolidated invoice at the end of each month for all eSIM purchases. A set credit limit prevents employees from exceeding the allocated budget. The invoice is paid at the start of the following month.
3. Assign a pilot group
Now that you've set up your organization on the Partner Platform, you're ready to equip your team with eSIM connectivity when they travel. Start by introducing Airalo for Business to a small group of employees who have upcoming travel plans. This gives them the opportunity to navigate the process, identify potential challenges, and share feedback before a full company-wide launch.
We recommend you take the following steps with your pilot group:
- Add and invite at least five employees who are traveling soon
- Ensure they join your organization on the Airalo app or website
- Purchase eSIMs for employees, or have them self-purchase
- Have employees install their eSIM and use it during their next business trip
- Collect feedback
A successful pilot group can also serve as internal advocates, helping to facilitate broader adoption.
4. Review invoicing
If your company opted for postpaid monthly invoices, confirm the correct billing and company details are included on the invoice.
To find your invoices, navigate to the Billing page of the Partner Platform. Here, you'll find a list of all your invoices and their current payment status.
💡 Do you need to make changes to your billing details? You can edit them in the Billing details tab on the Company settings page.
5. Explore analytics
Take advantage of the Analytics page on the Partner Platform to understand your employees' data usage behavior.
The analytics dashboard will provide valuable insights like:
Connectivity data:
- Purchases & data overview
- Total eSIM packages purchased
- Number of assigned eSIMs
- Top packages (by data volume)
- Top eSIM users (by spend)
- eSIM distribution by country/region
As well as corporate impact data:
- Net benefit: The estimated amount your company has saved through discounts.
- Carbon footprint reduction: How much you've reduced your carbon emissions by adopting eSIM technology.
6. Launch Airalo for Business company-wide
You're ready to launch Airalo for Business company-wide. For successful adoption, employees need to be introduced and onboarded to the Airalo for Business solution. A proper launch and onboarding will reduce confusion and establish the solution as an easy alternative for their next business trip.
Communicate key benefits
When introducing Airalo for Business to employees, you should explain why Airalo for Business was chosen, how it works, and most importantly — how it benefits employees:
- Instant connectivity upon arrival: No more buying local SIM cards or looking for Wi-Fi. Employees can stay productive and catch up on messages the moment they land at their destination.
- No more complicated expense reimbursements: Employees no longer need to save copies of receipts and wait for reimbursements. Instead, you can manage expenses from the Partner Platform, or employees can directly bill your organization using the self-purchase payment method.
Share resources with employees
Share helpful resources to guide employees in understanding the new solution. In your onboarding materials, you will receive the following resources to share with your team:
- Airalo for Business one-pager
- Airalo for Business employee guide
Add Airalo for Business to your corporate travel policy
Include Airalo for Business in your corporate travel policy to drive solution adoption. Detailed guides and protocols ensure all traveling employees understand the process and eliminate confusion.
We recommend you continuously update your policy and send periodic reminders to employees who travel once a quarter to remind them of the solution available.
