When we created Airalo for Business, our goal was to make it easy for traveling teams to stay connected.

However, we know that "simple" looks different for every company. Whether you are a startup needing agility or an enterprise requiring strict financial oversight, your connectivity solution should adapt to you—not the other way around.

We’ve enhanced our platform to provide greater flexibility, allowing you to choose between centralized administrative control and decentralized employee autonomy.

Customize your Airalo for Business solution: Control, payment, and limits

Airalo for Business is designed to keep your team connected and roaming bills predictable. To best fit your business needs, we've introduced a couple of levers that allow you to customize your connectivity solution based on three factors:

  • Level of control: Decide between centralized distribution (Admins assign eSIMs) or employee self-purchase (employees select their own eSIMs via the app).
  • Payment method: Align your billing with your accounting cycles. Choose between Prepaid credits or Postpaid monthly invoicing.
  • Purchase limits: Maintain strict budget oversight and control with customizable limits per employee or department that reset monthly, quarterly, or yearly.

1.Level of control: Centralized vs decentralized eSIM purchase

You can choose how you want to distribute eSIMs to your employees. Once your team is onboarded via our secure SSO (Single Sign-On), you can manage access in two ways:

  • Centralized: Admins purchase and "distribute" eSIMs from the Airalo Partner Platform. The eSIM is pushed directly to the employee’s profile in their Airalo app, ready for activation.
    • This is ideal for organized businesses that want full control over the connectivity experience.
  • Decentralized:  Employees browse and purchase the specific eSIM they need for their destination directly in the app. They simply bill it to the company account, removing the need for Admins to manage individual requests.

2. Airalo for Business payment: A breakdown of payment methods

Depending on your accounting and financial cycles, we offer different payment options to best fit your business.
Here is the breakdown:

Payment model option

How it works

Ideal for

Prepaid: Admins purchase Airalo Credits upfront

Think of it as a digital bank account where every eSIM purchase is deducted from the balance.

Prepaid credits only need to be topped up when running low.

Purchase limits can be set, and the account is treated like a digital wallet.

This is best for companies with fixed annual budgets.

The prepaid setup can be applied to businesses that centrally distribute eSIMs or those that allow their employees to purchase their own.

Postpaid: Set a monthly limit and receive one consolidated invoice for all orders at the end of the month.

The postpaid setup can also be applied to businesses that centrally assign and distribute eSIMs or choose to allow employees to purchase their own.

Purchase limits can be applied, and the account functions like a monthly credit limit.

This is ideal for companies with high-frequency travel.

The postpaid setup can be applied to businesses that centrally distribute eSIMs or those that allow their employees to purchase their own.

Credit/Debit card: Available if self-purchase is enabled.
Employees pay via the app using a corporate or personal card, with corporate discounts automatically applied.

Instead of relying on the company to set up and monitor postpaid or prepaid methods, employees can purchase eSIMs in "Business Mode" using credit or debit cards.

Companies with expense management softwares or want to streamline the employee purchase flow.

Employees buy eSIMs via the Airalo app on "Business mode" using a corporate or personal card, with corporate discounts automatically applied.

3. The employee experience: The "business mode" toggle

We’ve removed the friction of expense reports. When an employee is part of an Airalo for Business organization, they gain access to the Business Mode toggle within the Airalo app.
How it works for the traveler:

  1. Log in: Access the Airalo app using their organization-linked account.
  2. Select: Choose the data plan for their destination.
  3. Toggle: Switch on "Business Mode."
  4. Checkout: Choose to "Bill to Organization" (if enabled) or use a corporate card.
  5. Connect: Install the eSIM and get online instantly.

Any order purchased from employees in business mode will be reflected on the Orders tab of the Partner Platform for Admin to monitor.

Plus, all the benefits of Airalo for Business will still apply:
  • Automatic discounts: Corporate rates apply instantly.
  • Verified attribution: The system confirms their organization membership.
  • Flexible payment: Use a company card while ensuring the transaction is logged on the Partner Platform.
